Installation & Setup
- Location: Install on a firm, level base within 1 metre of the pool. Ensure adequate ventilation around the pump motor.
- Plumbing: Connect inlet and outlet pipes using 50mm PVC pipe and solvent cement. Install unions for easy maintenance access.
- Sand Loading: Fill tank with the specified amount of sand for your model (see table above). Use a plastic bag to protect the standpipe during filling.
- Priming: Fill pump basket with water before first use. Ensure all connections are tight and air-free.
- First Run: Set valve to "Filter" and run for 24 hours. Backwash when pressure gauge reads 8-10 PSI above starting pressure.
💡 Pro Tip: Backwash your filter weekly during peak season (or when pressure rises 25%) to maintain optimal flow and filtration efficiency.
Maintenance Made Easy
The 6-way valve makes routine maintenance simple:
- Filter: Normal operation - water flows through sand media
- Backwash: Reverses flow to clean sand and flush debris
- Rinse: Settles sand bed after backwashing
- Recirculate: Bypass filter for quick chemical mixing
- Waste: Drain pool without passing through filter
- Closed: Shuts off flow for winterization or service
Regular backwashing keeps your filter performing like new season after season. Simply switch to "Backwash" for 2-3 minutes until water runs clear, then "Rinse" for 30 seconds.
