Our Best-Selling Plug & Play Heat Pump, Built for UK Weather
The Flotide S10 is the highest output plug-and-play heat pump on the UK market at 12.5kW, and it has become our best-selling unit. Why? Because UK pool owners need a heat pump that hits temperature fast and holds it through cool mornings, cloudy afternoons and the British weather generally. Bigger output means less running time, less electricity, and a pool that is actually warm when you want to swim. It comes with a UK 13A plug already attached, so there is no electrician, no wiring and no fuss. Just plumb it in and switch on.
Hands down our most recommended unit when customers ask "which one should I actually buy?"
🎯 Perfect For
-
Anyone who wants their pool up to temperature quickly rather than waiting days
-
Pools 20m³ and up, where the extra capacity gives you headroom so the unit runs less and costs less to run
-
The UK climate, where cool evenings rob heat overnight and a higher output recovers it fast the next day
-
Plug and play installation from a standard 13A socket, no electrician required
-
Seasonal use from April to October (operates down to -7°C ambient)
Suitable for all pool types: in-ground, above-ground, steel wall, liner, frame pools and wooden pools.
💷 Running Costs: Exposed
Unlike gas or electric heaters, the Flotide S10 delivers up to 6.65kW of heat for every 1kW of electricity consumed (COP 6.65). That's over 80% free energy extracted from the air!
What does it actually cost to run?
- Power input: 1.51–2.06kW depending on air temperature
- At 21p per kWh, that's approximately 32p–43p per hour when the compressor is running
- Over an 8-hour period: approximately £2.54–£3.46
Lower end at 15°C ambient (spring/autumn), higher end at 27°C ambient (summer). Based on 21p/kWh. Actual costs depend on your tariff, outside air temperature, and pool temperature.
🌡️ Smart Thermostat Operation
The Flotide S10 works just like a thermostat. Set your desired pool temperature and the heat pump does the rest:
- The heat pump heats your pool water to your target temperature
- Once reached, the compressor shuts off automatically
- When the water drops 2°C below your target, it kicks back in
This means your heat pump is not running 24/7, it cycles on and off as needed to maintain your perfect temperature. Once your pool is up to temperature, running costs drop significantly as it only needs to top up heat lost overnight or on cooler days.
🔧 Simple Setup: True Plug & Play
No electrical wiring required. The Flotide S10 comes with a UK 13A plug already attached, genuine plug and play. Just follow this simple plumbing setup:
Pool (water out) → Pump / Filter → Heat Pump → Pool (water in)
- Position the heat pump near your filtration system (allow 50cm airflow clearance around the unit)
- Connect the inlet pipe from your pump/filter outlet to the heat pump
- Connect the outlet pipe from the heat pump back to your pool return
- Plug into a standard UK 13A socket
- Set your desired temperature and you are done!
